Physical: Today is a day I thought of fashion. Lately denim has become quite the trend, but the problem with these trends is that we go way over board, jean jump suites or pant suites are not cute, jean on jean is not cute or acceptable, and denim is not a good material for accessories! I am nervous about this new phase of fashion! Ladies use your denim wisely do not carlessly throw it on your body!

Mental: Today I started to look into finishing up a bible degree I started 2 years ago, isn't it interesting that we stray from what we started out doing and we feel as though we strayed from our very purpose! My purpose is far greater than college (thanks be to God), but I did learn alot while in school and if finishing this degree means that I will be more qualified to teach the bible and to help others learn how to study this ancient living document then I want to finish. Isn't it funny how a peice of paper makes people think they are more entitled or deserve better? I think it's the life experience that makes us far more qualified, that is why man can earn numerous degrees in religion, theology, and even bible and yet totally miss the person and relationship of Christ!

Spiritual: Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.13 A poor yet wise lad is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive instruction.14 For he has come out of prison to become king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.15 I have seen all the living under the sun throng to the side of the second lad who replaces him.16 There is no end to all the people, to all who were before them, and even the ones who will come later will not be happy with him, for this too is vanity and striving after wind.

  1. Girl! Check you out!!! Here you are blogging like a pro.

I LOVE what you said about the degree -- a teachable heart, a humble spirit and the willingness to allow God to mold you into the person He wants you to be is so key in teaching His Word.

I've been blessed to sit under many well educated teachers -- some wonderful and others not so good.

I've also been blessed to sit under many teachers who did not have the 'paper proof' to qualify them to teach, but they taught out of a willingness to serve -- some of these were great and others not so great.

I believe the most important characteristic of a Bible teacher is a passion for God and His Word. A passion that throws you headfirst into the Holy scrips. A passion that makes you need His Word more than food or even coffee.
A passion that comes from Him and a heart that prays for this passion.

MacKenzie -- I'm so EXCITED to "see" you here!

I'll be reading. You keep writing... and I promise I won't do TOO MUCH denim.
