Our enemy, our captor is no pharaoh on the Nile
Our toil is neither mud nor brick nor sand
Our ankles bear no calluses from chains, yet Lord, we're bound
Imprisoned here, we dwell in our own land

Deliver us, deliver us
Oh Yahweh, hear our cry
And gather us beneath your wings tonight

Our sins they are more numerous than all the lambs we slay
These shackles they were made with our own hands
Our toil is our atonement and our freedom yours to give
So Yahweh, break your silence if you can

Jerusalem, Jerusalem
How often I have longed
To gather you beneath my gentle wings

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

You be You and Me be Me

Mental: I needed this in my day, to remember I am made for more, I have a higher purpose, a greater calling, and all I have to do is "do work". Not your 9 to 5 hum drum work but the work anointed by the One who has called me. I can get so easily wrapped up in someone else's calling that I lose my own, this song always takes me back to it! I hope it blesses you as it has blessed me. It resembles a mental battle, one of dreadful proportions if given the foothold.
Physical: It's freakin' cold! Trying to have a positive attitude about the cold weather but it's really hard when my nose and fingers lose feeling. I anxiously await a first snow and when it arrives the cold will be far more bearable.
Spiritual: You know the desert times, when you feel as though you are trudging through the desolate lands with the Israelites? (Maybe that is just me, maybe it's my desire to be a Jew, who knows.) It is a spiritual hunger for the Almighty to move in amazing ways, which I have belief that He will, it's now a time of preparation for the blessings, the overflow. So I prepare and eagerly await the over flow. I think it's time to venture out of Numbers and into another book of study.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

3.1.10

Physical: Today I walked by a store, the last time I was in that store was when I was purchasing my Senior Prom Dress! How crazy long ago that was! It did take me back though to the fond memories of searching for that one dress that made you feel like such a hottie..... even if looking back you thought you were way hotter than you remember being today. (wink) I loved my senior prom dress, it was the perfect color, cut, and vintage style for the old soul that I am! I felt like Doris Day in "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" or Judy Garland in "Meet Me in St.Louis" singing about the boy next door. I have a confession I sometimes do try it on just to make sure that it still fits so when the golden opportunity arrives to pull it back out and I can rock it again! I think with each sentence I write I am losing more and more fashion credibility!
Mental: Have you ever looked at a past week or day and thought, "What in the world have I done to impact the world?" That was this past week, we had missions week on Sunday and I was reminded of my real passion... missions! I love helping people especially across the globe! I love finding a need and putting the right people in place to fulfill the needs of people! What a rush, to recognize a need and fill it, there are so many great examples of companies and ministries who have stepped in and helped, Compassion International, TOMS Shoes, Wold Hope, TWLOHA, the Invisible Children, and so many more! Tomorrow I am going to do something to impact my world, whether it be to make someone smile, to show someone love, or to support someone with a need, I will be open to what God has for me and I will fulfill it. (only by his grace and revelation of coarse!)
Spiritual: A huge thanks goes out to Kay Arthur for allowing the Christian community to finally think for themselves! If scripture is truly alive and sharper than a two edged sword then why do we run to the commentaries (opinions) of people rather than seeking out our own conclusions? Commentaries can be a good thing if they are used correctly, we are so quick to run to them to find our conclusion rather than to seek it out ourselves, the same way we base our spiritual knowledge and relationship with God solely on our pastor and his staff. Rise up Christian and think! Revelation is yours for the taking claim the Holy Spirit as your guide and study the scriptures, this is not a Jane Austin novel that is merely for entertainment, it is a life map to study and be studied over and over again, to sharpen your senses and draw you closer to the mind of the very Creator of the Universe! (please be just as impressed as I am with that)

2.22.10

Physical: Today is a day I thought of fashion. Lately denim has become quite the trend, but the problem with these trends is that we go way over board, jean jump suites or pant suites are not cute, jean on jean is not cute or acceptable, and denim is not a good material for accessories! I am nervous about this new phase of fashion! Ladies use your denim wisely do not carlessly throw it on your body!

Mental: Today I started to look into finishing up a bible degree I started 2 years ago, isn't it interesting that we stray from what we started out doing and we feel as though we strayed from our very purpose! My purpose is far greater than college (thanks be to God), but I did learn alot while in school and if finishing this degree means that I will be more qualified to teach the bible and to help others learn how to study this ancient living document then I want to finish. Isn't it funny how a peice of paper makes people think they are more entitled or deserve better? I think it's the life experience that makes us far more qualified, that is why man can earn numerous degrees in religion, theology, and even bible and yet totally miss the person and relationship of Christ!

Spiritual: Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.13 A poor yet wise lad is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive instruction.14 For he has come out of prison to become king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.15 I have seen all the living under the sun throng to the side of the second lad who replaces him.16 There is no end to all the people, to all who were before them, and even the ones who will come later will not be happy with him, for this too is vanity and striving after wind.
